I cannot tell you what pain this causes, unless you've watched the ones you love suffer from afar, there's simply no way to understand the heart wrenching feeling of wanting to fly over mountains to be with them & yet being stuck helpless in your bed.
This is not about me, but it is an opportunity to address one of the less commonly spoken of casualties of disability, we are not able to be there for the people who need us. My grandma, my Aunts, need me right now. My grandpa needs me. I should be there. I am here. And all because two separate hospitals both operated under policies that left patients vunerable to deadly disease.
Please help join us in thanking those fantastic doctor's by her side now in Medford and insisting that hospital officials here in Klamath Falls make eradicating infectious diseases such as colostrum difficil or "c.diff." a much higher priority.
We deserve to be able to be at the bedsides of our loved ones without fearing for our own lives as well as theirs, and More Importantly, they deserve to HAVE us there without fearing that we might be infected with these life threatening illnesses which are running rampant in hospitals especially locally.
Please join me in not just asking but insisting on better sanitation at local hospitals such as Sky Lakes Medical Center and ones like your own.
My grandmother deserves so much more than what she's received in care in Klamath Falls, please pray for her and for the administration at Sky Lakes to take c.diff. and other infections seriously and clean rooms, hands, and instruments properly.
May we all be with the ones we love today and always.
Thank you for your kind thoughts towards my grandmother, her daughter, and her sister, working tirelessly at her side. May all her caregivers show true care and may we all join together to insist on proper conditions in our nations care facilities.
